I’m a little confused.

[Image](https://imgur.com/a/xKTtfj3) Hello guys, i just wonder why it’s says こんにちは insted of こんにちわ ? I saw same thing on busuu too.

  1. Some context for why the は particle is used in a word: in the past Japanese people used to greet each other by starting small talk about the day, so they’d say こんにちは (今日は).

    After that had been established, they’ve realize the same word means “today” and “hello”, which is weird so 今日 started being read as きょう (today).

  2. Oh there are more confusions down the road, I’m just over a beginner hurdle myself with numbers; eg. With 4 when to use よん vs よ vs し.

    Repetition will beat it into your head, the best thing language learning has taught me is your brain got a huge amount of storage for what you use daily.
