Getting used to saying 自分 instead of 私

I recently came out as nonbinary and I’m trying to make my Japanese fit my identity better, and it’s been a struggle. I’m saying 自分 now instead of 私, saying 君 instead of あなた and just trying my best not to use as much 女言葉.

There’s probably even more syntax that I have to change and haven’t even thought about, if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Well the great thing about japanese is that in most instances you can- and should- drop the subject entirely!! Also, while 私 may be used more often in a feminine sense its gender neutral. Hope this helps! 🙂
