I go to our massive huge home center and they have 100 different sheets of wood for sale. Not a single one is 1cm thick. Its 5.5mm or 12 or 11mm or 18 or 8. WTF. When did 1cm not be a standard thickness.
Every sheet was 910mm or 870mm or 1800mm
Is 1mx2mx1cm really that fucking hard? I would have thought that would be a standard.
Is the wood cut to tattmi size or something?

I have a home gym and building a deadlift platform. And all my mats are 50×50, so… 100x200cm
Standard. I know, right?
But then finding wood the same size. Impossible.
Any online lumber shops that can sell and deliver 3 sheets of wood to me?

Plywood sheets are usually 3尺x6尺. The ones you’ve seen. If you ask they might be able to order 4尺x8尺. Those are 1220 x 2440. I’ve never seen 10mm plywood so I can’t help you there. You’ll obviously have to cut them to size though.
They will cut your plywood to size at the home centre for a minimal fee. If it is for a deadlifting platform, why do you care if it is a mm thicker? Source: built my home gym during the lockdown which included plywood on cement with mats on top.
Japan’s building standard is 910mm between the studs so that’s where it comes from. Nobody in construction wants to pay extra for something they have to cut off anyway so there you go.
