Hello everyone!
We are a host family who will be meeting our Japanese student tomorrow! She’s 15, and coming to Canada to learn English with a group until the end of the year. I know she’s quite young, and thinking back to myself at the age… well I’ll just say she’s very courageous!
Food (breakfast, school-packed lunch etc), environment, activities and so on; we’d appreciate any and all tips and things we can do to help her settle in comfortably! 🙂

Honestly give her the most canadian experience you can. That is what she wants and whenever we hosted a student or even a police officer exchange from Japan we would do the most American things we could do. Restaurants, shopping, national parks, in our case shooting and camping because Montana. . In addition kind of make her use as much English as she is comfortable using. It is always a good experience because you get to enjoy things with her as well. Also let her know you enjoy japan or learning about japan, gets her to teach you things and gives her a base to work from about things she knows. Hope it goes well.
