what if i complete 12 years of education across countries for a japanese student visa?

I want to move to japan when i’m 19 on student visa. Now i’m 17 and i finished GCE O/L in sri lanka and i think my results won’t be good and i won’t be elgibile for 12th grade in sri lanka. Because i need to complete 12 years of education to go to japan, will it be a problem for the japanese student visa if i go to complete 12 years of education in another country?

  1. This is less a “moving to Japan” question and more “moving to some other country”.

Your plan would *probably* work in terms of Japan, but… Where are you going to go?

A lot of countries have laws/rules that require a minimum period of study to officially graduate. Japan, for example, says you can only graduate high school if you do all 3 years in Japan. Many other countries have similar rules.

Also… If you your grades are so bad that you can’t qualify for 12th grade, how do you expect to be admitted into university?
