Word for spice of wasabi?

I cant remember when or where but I heard Japanese people using 2 words for describe spicy thing. For example they use a word for spice of chili and that kind of things also they use another word for spice of wasabi. When I think wasabi tastes like dozens of mint it makes sense. So is it true ? if it is could u write words they are using ?

  1. I think both is 辛い but the 辛さ is described differently. Wasabi is ツーンとくる辛さ while chili is more ヒリヒリorピリピリする辛さ

  2. At least in Tokyo, people tend to describe the spiciness of wasabi with “ツーン” or “ツーンとする”. They would say something like “鼻にツーンとくる”.

That’s different to the “ピリピリ” or “ピリ辛” of hot chili.

  3. Try the Peyang Ultra spicy yakisoba (the one with a demon on the cover), then compare it with a Karakuchi Kareraisu. Then you will realize the difference between spicy and very spicy in Japanese is 辛い VS 痛い.
