I think I already know the answer is I can’t but I thought I ask here before I waste my time at the 区役所 tomorrow.
In short I’m moving from Osaka to Tokyo in 2 weeks and start work in about 4 weeks. I’m going to move to a share house but I would like to do some viewings first before I chose. Therefore I would temporarily be living in a hostel without a permanent address as I will do all my forms before I leave Osaka. Is this a no go and should I find somewhere before I go?
I was looking at sakura house to stay for 1 month but because I want to move to a 6万円 place permanently it would probably be cheaper to sign a contract before I move then break it and lose my deposit if I don’t like it compared to forking over 8万円 for somewhere in the suburbs temporarily.

So when you say Tokyo, you are actually planning on moving to Chiba, right?

you can write down when you’re ‘planning’ to move and I think you have 2 weeks to register at a new address if that’s enough time for u to find a place
グーグル先生 says it should be fine for most places but I found out that some places require you to have the next address so it’s best that you ask your 区役所 for the most accurate answer.
Btw I don’t know many but you can make a monthly contract with Oakhouse sharehouses.
