Hi, next spring I will be graduating with a bachelors degree in information technology as well as one in Japanese. I currently have N2 and several CompTIA certifications. I have about 6 months experience working in IT. My goal is to work remotely in cybersecurity for a US company and then move to Japan. Is this a good idea? Or would it be better to work for a Japanese company remotely? I would prefer to work for a US company just because the wages tend to be higher but I am open to both. As far as visas go, would I still be able to get a work visa if I am working for a US company?

You need a domestic company to sponsor you for a work visa. The US company would need to have a branch in Japan and that branch would be who hires you.
>CompTIA certifications
Don’t mean much in Japan.

So still on a support level.

You’ve been in IT for 6 months. You’re not gonna touch Cyber for years.
You cannot just move there, not how it works. Best bet is to find work with a company that has branches and request transfer. Most US based companies will only let you stay OCONUS for a short amount of time.
