10 Day Japan Itinerary for small family with baby- Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka

Hello Everyone!

I would love some input on my Japan Itinerary for my trip this coming January 2023 with **my wife and 1.5 year old**. I would love some advice/suggestions on what I can add for more **baby friendly** things to do. My daughter does very well in her carrier though as well as umbrella stroller. She has already traveled all over the place so we are very comfortable bringing her to Japan (had to point this out.)

One **request** I had and my wife was cool with it was is there ANY place in my Itinerary that I can see/view some **JDM cars**? I am a huge Japanese car fan. Especially modified ones. If anyone has a place where you can see some that would be awesome.

**Day 1:** Flying from SFO-NRT. Picking up our JR Rail Pass, Pocket Wifi (AirBnb has them but don’t we need wifi to use google maps TO GET TOO the airbnb?) and take train to our AirBnb. AirBnb is located in **Shinagawa.** It was a baby friendly Airbnb that offered plenty of baby amenities so I choose this one even though I know its not as centrally located in Tokyo.

**Evening:** Explore the city/area around the Airbnb – maybe grab a bite to eat. Any recommendations in the Shinagawa Area?

**Day 2: Shibuya City.** We want to see the 2nd largest Starbucks there, Shibuya Crossing, Nintendo Store/Capcom Store/, Miyashita park, and maybe end the evening at the new Shibuya Sky.

**Day 3: Tokyo DisneySea.** Wife really wants to see this.

**Day 4: Chill Day after Disney.** Recommended or maybe just a late start? Nothing planned. Maybe go to local park near Airbnb. Really trying to take it easy and not rush this trip.

**Day 5: Asakusa.** Sensoji Temple, Fuji Park for baby, Ichira for Ramen, Yokocho Food hall, walk around if there is time.

**Day 6: Travel to Kyoto.** Check into Airbnb which is located in Aburayacho area. Explore area around the airbnb.

**Day 7: Explore the streets of Gion**, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka. Afterwards hit up the Nishinki Market.

**Day 8: Arashiyama**. Visting the Bamboo Forest, Money Park, Tenryuji Temple.

**Day 9:** Either see Inari Shrine **OR** do a day trip to Osaka and explore there.

**Day 10:** Traveling from Kyoto to Haneda Airport to head home. Have a late flight that doesn’t leave till 22:00. Any recommendations during this time block of time? Have to check out of Kyoto Airbnb by 1100.

Thank you for any tips/suggestions!! 🙂

  3. My husband is into JDM too. So I am interested to see what people suggest.

From our research we found out about the Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama in Tokyo, Daikoku parking in Yokohama, Nissan Global Headquarters in Yokohama, and the Nissan Heritage Museum in Zama which is currently closed and is quite far away from Tokyo.
