Going overseas for the first time since covid, now I understand why everyone was always confused and there were so many questions about the government websites.
It appears that from Oct 11, all travelers will have to show 3 doses vaccination or a negative test. Does that include kids (8) also? There doesn’t seem to be anything addressing kids at all, so I guess they need a test?
If kids don’t need one, I was going to get my third shot before going to avoid having to get a test, but the earliest appointment I can get is about 48 hours before my flight leaving the country. Would that be crazy to try to do and run the risk of either having a terrible time on the flight, or be turned away at some point due to fever?

Has anyone else found that the generally higher standards of customer services here have made you more likely to write a complaint? I decided to write a complaint to a Rakuten seller because they chose to use a courier who can only deliver Mon-Sat 9am-5pm, and I missed the first delivery because I had a hospital appointment on Saturday that lasted an hour longer than usual. All couriers in the UK are equally terrible for people who work regular office hours unless you pay to get it in the evening, but despite Yamato, Sagawa etc. offering designated timeslots up to 10pm by default, the seller chose one with poorer service, which I find very annoying.

This is completely of curiosity, how strict are they with the school lunches here?
I understand the whole everyone has to eat the same thing together and they will make exceptions for allergy reasons but what about vegetarian/vegan/religious exceptions? How would a school deal with a parent requesting vegetarian meals etc? Back home kids were allowed to bring in packed lunches or even go home for lunch and even then, the school usually offered non meat dishes but here I understand they shove meat in practically everything and kids aren’t allowed to bring in bentos in case other kids get jealous lol.
Or do they just get shougani’d…
I feel like with the increase in foreign/half kids and even vegetarianism becoming more popular, this might be an issue down the line.
