“Expel the barbarian foreigners…oh hang on, we’re not really letting them in. Quick! Find us another scapegoat!”
its the fault of all the gaijin who arent wearing masks and saying “this is a pen”!!!!!!
I got lucky to be able to go to Japan in 2018. It will be very difficult do go there again 🙁
Ya Gotta stop focusing on CASES. it’s the death rate that matters same as any contagion. Otherwise you better wear that damn forsaken mask in case you catch cold, God forbid.
I’m probably infected…. Throat pain and headache, add one to this number…
And why are so many people getting infected compared to a… idk… large country that didn’t force and coerce?
40K? By the Emperor!
I was at Gion matsuri recently… the crowds were insane.
They’re worried about foreigners but it was as cramped as tuna in a can there
As long as they don’t start with these dumbass quasi lockdowns again or “state of emergency”
Japan’s daily COVID-19 cases top 230,000, record for 2nd straight day.

In other words,
0.18% of the population has tested positive.
In other words,
1 out of every 555 has tested positive.

<400 are seriously ill with Covid.
Damn… and here I am with tickets purchased for end of September to attend the wedding of a friend.. non refundable haha.
I have rolled the dice, time to pray lol.
Positive rate is 50% too
Los Angeles 7-Day Daily Average: 46,826
The only country still counting cases. My Japanese wife and I have been waiting 3 years now to go back to visit her parents so we can introduce them to their granddaughter. Yet they are still restricting foreigners from entering “due to fears of increasing cases” if you’re hitting records on your own what difference would it make letting travellers in? Especially now with variant 5 or 6 it really is just a bad flu. Open up already.

Counting daily COVID cases in July 2022 is like counting daily cold cases.
My wife wants us to go to a restaurant to meet up with her two best friends and their kids. Like 6 adults and 6 kids total. We don’t live in Tokyo but it’s central to where we could meet. I’m trying really hard to find a way out of meeting up that doesn’t cause a fight.
Experts predicted that Tokyos cases would peak august 6th at 40k cases. Don’t listen to the doubters, I know you can hit at least 75k
Man… I’ve been wanting to go to Tokyo to eat the beef and sashimi. My daughter’s been asking for Disneyland too. It’s not gonna happen.
Travelling there next month. As I understand it, the government isn’t likely to make any widespread changes beyond asking people to be safe, right?
And here it was all looking so shiny…
Remember when State of emergency was to be decreed if it exceeded 50 new cases per day?
The were good old days
Do you still have to pay to get tested in Japan?
Just arrived here the other day from canada. Had multiple PCRs / antigens to enter. Covid free.
Had a headache / itch throad yesterday thats gone today, so im hoping its just altitude adjustment/a common 24 thing here im not used to.
It would be my luck to be covid free for 2.5 years in my own country, jump through so many hoops to get here, and SO much proving i dont have covid/have 4 vaccines, just to get it the second i land in tokyo🥲
(It was only yesterday, today im fine, which is why im hopeful. Did a test today, it was negative.)
Japan is behind the endemic curve unless it opens up fully with high vacc rate
question// I’m going to japan next month and will be buying tickets this week. will they probably be closing borders with the rising number of cases?
in all seriousness people are hospitalizing and dying so sad
