I have searched all over for information to this question, but I need to send a birthday card ASAP to the US and the nearest post office opens on Monday, so I can’t go there to ask questions until then. I’m planning on buying stamps at a 7/11 and putting the letter in the post box.
Do I need to print an address label out for a greeting card to the US, or is that just for packages?
If so, is it okay if I print it out on regular paper and tape it on, or do I have to use sticky label paper? Does the return address also need to be a printed label?
My handwriting is very neat.

Normal envelopes with letters don’t need the online preprinted package labels. You can handwrite the address on the envelope or print it and tape it on. Expect it to take 2 weeks or so to arrive. I’ve had normal airmail letters arrive in the US as fast as a week and as slow as a month or two (during the height of covid lockdowns).
Note that it can take more than a week to arrive.
Before pandemic it was like 4-7 days, now it’s like 2 weeks or more depending on how things are.
