There are posts almost every day about how difficult people find it to make friends in Japan. Wouldn’t this be the perfect forum for people to meet potential friends with the same interests and in the same area?
I get that individual posts of this nature would probably flood the subreddit, but I think even a weekly thread would be super useful.
Anyone else agree?

I think they’re generally assumed to go in local subreddits. For example, r/Tokyo has a stickied meetup thread.
