According to an earlier article, the government’s alcohol tax office is upset that people (particularly young people) aren’t drinking as much, so they’re trying to make a PR campaign to get young people to drink more.
Price hikes aren’t going to help with this, but they might help with public health in general by further discouraging drinking.
Perhaps bars need to change their business model to something other than alcohol sales.
