Is this translation of the phrase: “今日も見てくださりありがとうございます” correct ?

“Thank you for watching again today”?

I am beginning at Japanese. I am watching this Japanese vlogger, she writes both her captions in English and Japanese. She subtitled this:

今日も見てくださりありがとうございます.

Hello ! I am back today with another vlog.

So I was wondering if I had mistranslated it or if she simply wrote two different captions to capture each language’s essence better. Also, since there is くださり in the sentence, I’m wondering if it couldn’t also be: “Please watch again today, thank you”. What do you think?

Thank you for your help 🙂

  1. “Thank you for watching again today” sounds fine; it’s slightly unnatural English but as a translation it’s fine.

くださり does not mean “please”; that’s only in the てください form. Here it expresses that you did something for her benefit (it could also be said as くださってありがとうございます).
