Raffle Prizes Relating to Japanese Culture! (Help)

I’m on the e-board for my college’s Japanese culture club, and for our “Festival Night” event, we’ll be doing a raffle/giveaway with prizes. Even though we have a few ideas already, I really wanted to make this post where anybody could give their own ideas for prizes we could give away! This could range from prizes one might actually win at a legitimate festival, or just prizes that relate to Japanese culture that might make sense to win in a raffle context!

The best part is, the Student Association’s budget this year is weirdly big and they’re approving just about *anything* (we’re likely giving away two or three Nintendo Switches as top prizes even though those aren’t suuuuper culturally relevant; Nintendo is Japanese and that’s about it). Basically, even if you think something’s expensive, recommend it anyway! There’s no stupid answers.

Thank you SO MUCH if you actually took the time to think about this and respond. For real, any idea small or big is appreciated!!!

(also sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this but it seemed the best to me).

  1. If you are able to get Gashapon, you can have it so almost everyone is a winner. In Japan they are apparently cheap like under 300 Yen or so.

There are also inexpensive figures related to Anime that can be had for less than $50 a figure. Many of these figures feature characters in traditional festival clothing.

One style of game I saw in “Babysitter Club” anime is a booth where strings are wrapped around prizes. Extra string are added (not hooked to prizes) and they all are fed up through the table and the person playing picks a string and hopes it’s a prize when they pull on it.

It really depends on how much time you have. Some of these items can be had inexpensive but would need at least a month or so if you wanted them from Japan.
