Hey everyone! If this isn’t the right place to ask, feel free to discard!
I already have the first genki textbook, and was thinking about the second one. I unfortunately have dug through the internet and I see everyone recommends the 3rd edition because it’s more updated, however I can’t find where to buy the answer key, which would really be helpful for me because I’m a self studier (like most of us here haha). Any Input or advice would be great and thanks again!

2nd edition is probably fine. It’s not like you’re not going to run across words like 携帯 all the time when reading manga, watching anime, playing games, etc. In second edition you’ll learn words relating to snail mail like 切手 and 葉書 that got removed from the third since no one uses that shit anymore and they say カフェ instead of 喫茶店 but other than a (very) few minor things like that probably not a big deal. コンビニ is officially in the 3rd edition but not the second as vocab, but not like anyone studying Japanese won’t have heard about 7-11, Lawson, Family Mart, etc.
