Hi,

I am leaving Japan on October end. I just got word that I need to pay residence tax for till may of next year. Is that normal?

Couldn’t find many info related to this. Is this accurate?

Your residence tax billed in 2022 is based on your 2021 income, so you are obliged to pay it. It is normal
