Looking at being in Japan from April 25th thru May 4th. Would Golden Week crowds be an issue?

I’m looking into various travel destinations for these specific dates. If going to Japan, I realize that Golden Week holidays begin on the 29th (assuming my google search was correct). We would be likely visiting Tokyo and Kyoto and prefer more low-key travel – with our main interests being exploring both urban and nature areas, eating good food, visiting small shops, and going to some temples. Would Golden Week cause an issue with our travel (including before the 29th)? Would independent shops and restaurants be closed? Would nature areas be overcrowded?

    25-26 probably still fine.

    Extremely unlikely

Depend. Major nature will be overcrowded.
