How can I memorize the stroke order of kanji?

So I just recently started studying kanji, so far, I haven’t been struggling with reading too many of them, I learn them naturally through words. But some I just can’t seem to grasp the stoke order for. Any recommendations?

  1. You just have to write them over and over again. Eventually muscle memory will take over and you won’t even have to think about stroke order anymore.

  2. You should not have to memorize stroke order for every kanji you come across. Remember the three general rules: left to right, top to bottom, inside to outside. Then get used to the stroke orders for the general, simple and common radicals (e.g. 亻,日,氵,艹,口,冂,辶,etc) and that’ll get you 99% of the way there. To be quite frank, stroke order is not something you should be putting much time into learning in the first place.

  3. learn the radicals and their stroke orders. learning them and their meanings also helps with remembering kanji in general. and once you know the order of the pieces that make up the kanji, the full character is just one radical followed by another. it becomes trivial.
