What does Japan call styrene sheets?

*SOLVED: Turns out, they call it プラシート. A slightly unintuitive name, but I found it by searching for a specific brand I know rather than what I thought the product name was.

Original post:
(Poly)styrene sheets, used for model making and the like.
The only thing I get when looking for styrene on Japanese web stores is what we would call foam core.
Polystyrene foam sandwiched between sheets of paper. But I’m looking for solid sheets.

Does Japan have a different name for this, or..?

*Edit for clarity, I mean solid sheets with a millimeters or less thickness. The kind you could also use for vacuum forming.

  1. What are you searching for currently?

“スチレンボード” gives me what I think you want.

  2. Interestingly enough, I believe what you’re looking for is ポリスチレンシート
    Literally just “polystyrene sheet”

  3. Wave: プラ=プレート

    Tamiya: プラバン

Are also two names I’ve seen used. Not sure if it’s what you need, but it comes in thicknesses between 0.1 and 0.8mm.
