Travel Insurance to travel FROM Japan as a foreign resident

I am currently on JET, and therefore a resident in Japan. I am going abroad in the summer (Indonesia), and need travel insurance. I cant get it with one of my usual UK suppliers, as they deem it invalid as I am a Japanese resident.

So… what company do people usually use when traveling from Japan to somewhere else?

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: This may be more relevant in JapanLife, but I’m perma-banned… woooo

  1. You can buy it from vendors at the airport in Japan. No need to be a Japanese citizen.

  2. As a JET you have Accident Insurance already; It covers you for 30 days when traveling to your home country, and for an unlimited period of time when travelling to a third country (not Japan or your home country). I don’t really know what medical expenses are generally like since I come from a country with universal health care, but the cover amount seems pretty decent to me.
