Hey, after a year of studying japanese i finally find myself confident enough to give japanese media a shot. Any recommendations (podcast, manga, novels, youtubers, etc)

  1. go to [thejapanshop.com](https://thejapanshop.com) they have a bunch of good stuff and it is divided by level. Not expensive either. Also the pokemon and doraemon manga are pretty easy to read but you will probably need to have a dictionary near by lol.

  2. I really like Nihongo con Teppei podcast. The beginner series is only 3 minutes per episode so it’s easy to just quickly tune in. It’s very simple but he makes it entertaining. I felt a lot of confidence going from struggling to understand it to understanding most of what he says and just being able to listen along casually – it’s been kind of a barometer of progress for me. He also has an intermediate podcast that I have just started listening to and enjoy.

  3. We have a podcast for upper beginners to intermediates called Nihongo no Tane:

It may be too challenging right now, but give it a try. You can follow along with the English translation as well as Japanese subtitles on the video version and then take the short quiz to test your comprehension.
