Tokyo/Osaka Trip – 14 Day Itinerary Advice!

Hello everyone! I will be taking a trip to Tokyo/Osaka for 14 days soon! Any advice on my itinerary would be **awesome**. I did quite a bit of research for a few days, and made some comparisons from other itineraries I found and pulled what I wanted to do most.. Im mostly looking forward to the amazing views/sites, taking stunning photography, streetwear & fashion shops, and exploring great bars/nightlife. If there are any major gaps or the day is too empty, critique! Please, let me know what you think!

  1. Kobe ropeway is stunning, would very highly recommend taking it up, then walk back down to pass that waterfall. Was a pretty easy walk back down with the slope.

From Osaka, possibly go and check out the [Cup Noodle Museum](https://www.cupnoodles-museum.jp/en/osaka_ikeda/), and there was some nicer scenery around.

Also in Osaka, to kill a little time, there is the [HEP FIVE ferris wheel](https://osaka-info.jp/en/page/hep-five-ferris-wheel), which sits atop the building for inner city views. You can even see Osaka Castle on a nice day.

Kamakura is worth the day trip too. Was some lovely views, and walking over to the island area at Enoshima was beautiful.

Very jealous of your trip, I hope you have some amazing times there!

  2. Re Kamakura, it’s a great day trip, recommended.

When we did it we also included Enoshima and found that once we had seen Enoshima and found somewhere for lunch it was already 2pm. We then saw the great Buddha and a shrine (forget which one) by which point it was 4pm and the shrines seemed to be closing up.

My advice: start out early 🙂

  3. I hope you have a good trip, but isn’t Japan closed? How are you getting in?

Also, no stop in Nara? Those deer will chase you for biscuits.

  4. Day 3, checking out the Gundam. – I’d recommend going back again at night if possible. The transformation/light display/projection show on the side of Diver City is pretty damn cool.

When in Osaka, if you can pop to the north side of town, hit up the Expo ’70 park and LaLaport ExpoCity. There’s the Tower of the Sun there which is huge and creepy, there’s TWO large Gundam statues in front of the Gundam Cafe there, and there’s the Redhorse Osaka Wheel, which is a massive Ferris whell there too. There’s also a KFC there with many life size statues of the Colonel himself.

Mandarake Grand Chaos is also a prime choice; good call on that.

  5. I never heard of the unko Museum before. Really made my day. 😆

copy pasting my earlier advice for kamakura day trip:
Get off the train at Kita-Kamakura, station is right next to Engaku-ji temple. Hike to Zeniaraibenten shrine and back to town center, you can see Daibutsu on the way back and maybe visit Tsurugaoka-Hachimangu. From Kamakura station you can take Enoden train to Enoshima island, don’t forget to stop by at Hase-dera (Hase station). Not sure if you’re into anime but this area is the location of “saishun buta yarou”. Special dish of Enoshima is Shirasudon, it might take some guts to eat if you’re not japanese xD. Enoshima has some restaurants, shrines and a cave. On the way back to Tokyo (from Enoshima to Ofuna) i recommend riding Shonan-monorail.
