Hey guys,
I just got an offer for a role in the Kitakyushu branch of CLI in Japan. I have seen the statements from the people before and the absolute mess that the Glassdoor is in for them.
I would like to know what if the state of CLI nowadays if anybody happens to know? It would be great to have a fresh insight if possible!
Based on what I’ve seen so far it’s really mix. The actual work side of things seems to be okay for the role offered however it’s the MD people seem to find most issues with. I also can’t seem to find anything solid after COVID began except for a small number of glassdoor reviews.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Avoid like the plague.
As a person who worked there for a few years, and guessing you are still in the UK I’d like to say, as a person who genuinely wants to see people enjoy their time working in Japan:
1. Japan is a great place to live and well worth the effort to come here if you are serious about the work.
2. Don’t sully your time here being treated like dung, working for CLI. There are multitudes of other employers who will treat you at least “fairly”.
3. If you want to check the recent Glassdoor reviews, you can see very clear evidence of how CLI management writes (more likely, cajoles staff) supposedly positive reviews that are actually nothing more than poorly veiled attempts to insert comments, badmouthing staff who decided to leave. The fact that these Glassdoor reviews exist, just stands to highlight how very childish and unprofessional the MD is.
