I’ve been learning Japanese on and off for 1-2 years. Know some fundamental things like pronunciation and basic grammar.
I travel to japan in December and want to learn as much as possible for my trip. A lot of my days are spent driving so audio lessons would be good. I used to use japanesepod101 but it’s behind an expensive paywall.
Any recommendations would really be appreciated.

The audio-only “basic” plan is $8/month before discounts. I used to have it when I started with Japanese and it was always possible to find 60%+ discounts just by googling “japanesepod101 discount code”. Not sure if that still works.
The other popular audio lessons are Pimsleur. Those are actually quite expensive, but many public libraries have then for free.
ToKini Andy has a free [playlist](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLA_RcUI8km1NMhiEebcbqdlcHv_2ngbO2) of Genki-based videos that would work well for grammar. There are some visual elements, but you can get the gist just from the audio.
The Nihongo con Teppei podcast is a great source for comprehensible listening for beginners, too.
