Hey everyone, I am quite a beginner of Japanese and today driving to work age of illusion came on my Spotify.
I was able to hear out the following in the song;
なぜ私は日本が大好きなのですか
My question is if the sentence is grammatically correct and what なの means within it?

Looks grammatically correct to me. The “の” is the explanatory particle. When asking a question you can include it at the end of your sentence to indicate you’re looking for an explanation (as opposed to a rhetorical question for example). For a statement, you can include it to show that you’re offering the statement as an explanation or answer to someone else’s question. In order to use this particle with nouns or na-adjectives, you have to append a “な” to the end of the noun or adjective first, so that’s why you see “なの”.
It doesn’t really change the meaning of the sentence when you translate it to English, but it does change the nuance a bit from a simple question to more of “no, really, tell me why”
