Little sink on top of my toilet not running. Easy fix?

I have one of those toilets with the little sink on top that is supposed to run every time you flush. It worked just as expected for a good long while, until recently. Would you happen to know why it would stop running, and if there’s an easy fix to it?

  1. So the tank isn’t filling?

There’s a faucet that controls the water intake, usually hidden close to the floor. Make sure it’s open by turning it counter-clockwise.

  2. Make sure the lid is properly aligned. If you took the lid off and didn’t put it back properly, the pipe that goes to the spigot may be misaligned.

  3. Sometimes those small plastic hoses that connect the water feed to the spout, come loose or fall off. Open the lid and reconnect if possible. If anything is actually broken, then ask your landlord to come fix it. It’s usually a very simple mechanism; self-explanatory.

  4. The water comes from the water pipes to the top sink then fills the tank with the water you just washed with. Sounds like the tube going up into the sink spout has detached. Now the water is going directly into the tank. Lift the lid and look for a loose tube to refit into the spout
