So, I’m using Duolingo to learn some Japanese and while almost all of the sentences make sense once I analyse them there’s one particular example where I have no idea why it shouldn’t be the way I find most coherent with the rest. First, two simple examples:
写真をよく撮ります *I often take photos*, よく modifies 撮ります so it makes perfect sense to put it before the verb and after を
本をたくさん読みます *I’ll read a lot of books*, たくさん modifies 読みます same with previous example
But in this next one the app tells me that this is wrong:
❎ 朝ご飯はパンをいつも一枚食べます *I always eat one slice of bread for breakfast*, いつも is clearly referring to 一枚食べます , i.e. the frequency of eating one slice (of bread), and that the correct way to say this should be
✅ 朝ご飯はいつもパンを一枚食べます where いつも comes before the を + verb it tries to modify, so it’s referring to “always bread”?
Any help with explaining this form of sentence construction would be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot! \^\^”

Your sentence would be something like “what I always do with bread for breakfast is I eat one slice”.
The correct sentence is “what I always do for breakfast is I eat one slice of bread”.
The placement of いつも affects the focus.
Also I think よく写真を取ります would be correct too.
As for 本をたくさん読みます, here たくさんmodifies 本. You could theoretically also say たくさんの本を読みます, but… It would be kinda awkward if the context doesn’t warrant that sort of focus. Sorry I can’t explain it better.
