Hi! I am a software developer from Ecuador, a small country in south america. I have always wanted to move to Japan. I’ve been learning Japanese on my own for the last year, my level is low but improving little by little. I have a bachelor’s degree in “computer systems engineering” and have been working as a software developer for the past year. My mother tongue is spanish but I am proficient in English. My current job is for a company based on the USA, but I work from my home country. I will be turning 31 years old soon if that is relevant. Also, I am single and don’t have any children.
I am planning to apply to IT jobs on the website tokyodev.com to try my luck soon. My question is what are my chances (as a slightly old latino, with little experience in IT) of success getting a job for a company that will sponsor my visa this way? Should I go ahead or wait a couple more years until I get more experience (but get a little older)?
I will also be applying for a MEXT scholarship to try to get a Masters degree in Japan, but I would prefer to get a job directly if possible.
Thanks in advance, any advice is appreciated.
