My wife and I have a 7:30am departure from OKA connecting in HND to the U.S next year and I was wondering what our transportation options are for getting to the airport on time? We have a rental car booked (Hertz) but given the early departure, im thinking we’ll need to drop it off the day before and find another way to the airport since they open at 8am. Would a taxi be the only feasible option that early, and if so what type of fare should I expect to get from downtown Naha area to OKA?

Where are you staying in relation to the airport?
They have a train that stops at the airport so if you’ll be staying anywhere along the train line, that’s an option.
Lived in Okinawa for 3 years near Naha on Camp Kinser. Your best bet if you’re worried is a Taxi, you could call ahead and schedule a pickup if you’re worried about it. Enjoy your trip the island is beautiful and filled with interesting history. Safe Travels.
Thanks everyone for your help. I guess i didnt realize i didnt need to be at the airport so early since even though its all one ticket, the first leg is actually still just domestic. Also didnt realize connecting in Haneda will require going through security again…thats good to know ahead of time.
