I’d suggest pokemon but the hiragana is gonna be difficult to read. Maybe you could try 3ds games? Like yokai watch, kirby, or even pokemon for the 3ds
Pokemon games, it’s DS pokemon generarion that implements kanji mode (all previous games were kana only, here you can switch), at least Black sure has one.
Ace Attorney games are more language-dense (since they are VNs), and it has less auto-progressing text sections (pokemon has them during battles all the time).
People say Ghost Trick’s not too hard, but, unlike Pokemon and Ace Attorney, I haven’t been able to find a readable script online (which makes looking up words a way better experience), but you can still try using HookAnyText with the emulator, or OCRing (photographing my 2ds and using Google Lens was surprisingly effective for Pokemon text, I don’t know if PC OCR software shows better or worse results).
