There used to be “dime stores” in the U.S. Inflation’s a bitch.
Daiso?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
It is also going to help Japanese industry assuming Japanese firms take advantage. Exports suddenly got a lot cheaper for foreigners looking to buy anything Japanese.
😿
Dollar twenty five stores in the US nowadays.
Will be 200 yen store soon in Japan
200Y shop then
Daiso already sells various goods for ¥200, ¥300 and even ¥500
I’ve been noticing all these shops changing for a few months now. Products that were sold for 100 Yen for years are no longer getting stocked, and many are now smaller or contain less product. Most shops are also now pushing higher-margin items costing 200-500 Yen, sometimes even 1000 Yen. I’m guessing this trend is going to continue until they’re not really 100-Yen shops anymore.
Should just rename to “Cheap Chinese Shit Shop” – just rolls off the tongue.
