You new employer might not be happy with that – reason being it messes with the tax/pension/healthcare payment calculations.
Most new employers want you to have officially quit before you begin work for them (I had this happen coming from another country, because I was still technically employed they wouldn’t let me start until my vacation had run out at the end of the month and I’d gotten my last paycheck – company policy).
