Hello. I’ve tried searching the subreddit here but as I’m currently on a dependent visa to a non-Japanese, I’m having trouble finding an answer. If I were to get a full time job here, what is the process of converting my visa? Is it even possible?
Thank you.

It’s called a change of status and it’s relatively easy. Your employer should handle it. However, if you need to for some reason (ie wanting to be freelance), a lawyer will cost about ¥100,00-150,000 depending. Takes a month to process.
It is an easy process; you shouldn’t need a lawyer. If your city has a place like [this](https://www.ih-osaka.or.jp/information_center), they can advise. It is basically take the company documents and application form to immigration.
You can even change to a working visa if you are working at multiple places and want to work more than 28hours a week.
It’s as simple as a day at immigration with the correctly filled out forms. If everything is in order, then just wait a month and you’ll get your new card with your changed status on it. Super simple.
Was in student visa, language school for 4 months, then swapped to engineering visa no problem.
As long as employer willing to sponsor then there should be no problem.
