Renting a cat in Japan ?!

Okay! Can’t believe I am asking this, but can I rent a pet cat here in Japan? Is this a ridiculous thought?! When I look for this query in web, google shows and suggests if I meant ‘car’ lol. I am really not ready for a pet full time, hence this question. I live in a apartment in Kanagawa.

  1. Yes, you can rent a cat for four weeks (28 days) at the price of 35,000 yen (plus tax). They’ll provide food and litter. The idea is that if the person wants the “healing properties” of a pet but not the commitment or they want to try it out and see if they can handle the chores before committing.
