Earlier this morning I placed an order at Yodobashi Camera with same-day delivery. When I log in to see my order status, it now says

what to the best of my knowledge (and a bit of Google Translate) gets me to

The payment method however is listed as credit card.
Did something go wrong with the payment of the order, or is this pretty normal and does it take a few hours before a credit card payment would be accepted?

Edit: Hmm, thanks for the recommendations. I cancelled the order, as I saw they have a few available in the nearest store. I guess I’ll try my luck there!

Yodobashi takes a couple of minutes to process the credit card payment, but I’ve never seen it last a couple of hours though. Just for clarification:
– Are you using Japanese credit card?
– Is this a large purchase (like in order of ten~hundred thousand yen)?
Some card will block your large purchase pending anti fraudulent check until you confirm to the CC company. You should be getting an email or notification from them, if not you can give them a call and they’ll be quick to approve your purchase.
Their help page states that this may appear before credit card orders are confirmed, but online advice suggests that this most often appears when credit card authorization has not been granted by the isuing card.
If you used a non-Japan issued card it is possible they flagged the purchase. It may be simpler to cancel the transaction and retry with a different card and/or convenience store payment/etc.
That means they’re waiting on payment authorization from your credit card company. I’ve ordered many things from Yodobashi Camera over the years and they have always been fast and reliable. Check your credit card account and see if the charge is there. If it is, Yodobashi is probably just slow to update your order status. If it isn’t, the problem may be with your credit card.
