LDP politician Onoda Kimi makes the (baseless) charge again that foreigners are sucking money out of Japan’s social safety net and it needs to be stopped. The ironic thing, though? Onoda is a half-American born in Chicago, Illinois.

11. The maximum period of alien welfare in the US is 5 years.
    After that period, those who cannot stand on their own will be forced to stop.
    In Germany, only foreigners who have paid taxes for 17 years (but all assets are disposed of, a place to live is designated, and furniture and clothing are used).
