Where to eat with large groups of people(more than 7)

Hello everybody,

I have been in tokyo for a bit more than 2 months and have made quite a few friends via school and sharehouse and we like to hang out all together once in a while.

The problem is we almost always end up eating in izakayas because since we are all gaijins, they are the only places we know accepts large groups.

My question is, does anyone have suggestions of where we could go to eat all together ?
Any recommendation is welcome. Thank you and have a nice day.

  1. Yakiniku restaurants that accept groups? I mean, at the end it depends on the specific place and if they have space for and allow big groups.

  2. You make a reservation at a place that accepts parties. If they offer a set menu it’s generally quite reasonable. If it’s ala carte then it can get pricy and annoying for the staff if you try to get them to split up the bill.

  3. Chinese restaurants sometimes have large circular tables with the “lazy Susan” turntable.

  4. Easiest way is to just google “7人以上が入れるレストラン” and pick from there. There will be lots of lists from places like Hot Pepper specifically targeting certain sized groups (my first result was Hot Pepper list of restaurants that accommodated 5-9 person parties).

  5. Use a restaurant search site, like Tabelog or GuruNavi, and set the size of your group (or select large groups).
