This ruling was from the High Court on an appeal after the ruling by the District Court, so I would expect to see this appealed to the Supreme Court.

So basically he liked tweets that implied that her rape was in fact a way to advance her career. He drugged her, right ? How is that supposed to make her advance her career ? A rapist who doesn’t believe he is responsible for anything but drugs his victims then shifts the blame. Life is still good for rapists in Japan 2022.
