Fujiyoshida Travel Tips?

Hi everyone! I’m going to Japan this December and I want to visit the Fujiyoshida area from Tokyo. I plan on staying a night in the area. For some reason though, I’m having such a hard time finding information about this leg of my trip.

Since I’m staying a night, I really want to do the following:

1. Visit Fuji Q for a while and maybe ride a few coasters. Is it true that it’s free right now?
2. Chureito Pagoda for obvious reasons
3. Just walk around Fujiyoshida’s town. I think there’s a famous street with a great view of Mt. Fuji
4. If it’s easy enough, I’d love to visit Kawaguchiko

I also need to go to Kyoto afterwards. Would appreciate any info on how to get there preferably by train 🙂

  1. 1. check official website, they seems to have discount, but not free. I just know they have an Hololive event in December.
    2. Yeah, it’s fine as long as you are fine with photo spots where there is only a single location from where you can get a specific point of view. The unfortunate thing is how little creativity you have to get a good picture.
    3. I would say that it’s more likely that the picture is famous and not the street. I think I know what you mean, but that’s really more a question of walking the streets and to have an eye for good picture spot.
    4. You are really likely going close to the lake, It would be really easy to go using the local sightseeing bus. If you decide to go to a ryokan there is also many that are around the lake.

Going to Kyoto from there is the part that is less fun. Your choice is either to take a but from Kawaguchiko station to Mishima station to ride the shinkansen or take the train back toward Tokyo to take the shinkansen at Shin-Yokohama station, if you use Google map or an app like Japan Travel by Navitime, you can see the train route and see where you have to change train line.
