I’m planning on applying for a transfer to the 2023 Interdisciplinary Program of Life and Environmental Sciences and would like to talk to anyone who’s had experience transferring to the University of Tsukuba or any university in Japan to ask some questions. Thank you.

Considering that Japan doesn’t usually allow transfer credit of any kind, this is very interesting and new to me. Transferring any units from another country to Japan is not a concept pretty much at all in Japan, so unless a representative from the University of Tsukuba told you that they would accept the credits you’ve already taken outside of Japan, or unless there’s specific information about an international transfer partway through a program on their website, I would assume that it isn’t possible by default.
If this is an established option for the University of Tsukuba or for your program at Tsukuba, would you please provide the links so that we can take a look and maybe help to advise you further? Like I said before, transferring really is almost never an option to a university in Japan and so it might be difficult to find someone who has done it. I wish you the best of luck though!
Also depending what country you are from going to Japan to get a degree in Life and Environmental Sciences is not going to be the best move for your career.
I was there on exchange 10 years ago so I can’t offer any advice on your question, but I’ll just say that I love Tsukuba and if you go you’ll have a great time.
