Hi there,
This will be the second time i’ll be going to japan and first for my boyfriend. He is not especially into temples but moreso on the food side of things.
I am including: Koysan/Takayama/Hakone/Hiroshoma+Miyajima as these are new places for both of us but unsure if my plan makes sense. We are starting our trip in Osaka then off to Kyoto to experience Jidai Matsuri Festival which i think will be lovely.
If you have any advice, it would be much appreciated. I think Takayama can be replaced by something that suits him more? I have been to most of the major temples so I won’t need to see them again. I would like to fit more foodie adventure country towns but am unsure what part of my itinerary to replace or cut down on.
We have not booked anything as of yet, But hoping to fly in to Osaka and Leave via Tokyo.
This plan is for October 2023.

When I’m in Osaka, I try to make time to grab something from Okonomiyaki Mizuno or 551 Horai.
