Question about Japan baseball series

I’ve been lucky enough to be invited to game two of the Japan baseball series on Sunday night. I am a big MLB baseball fan and have been to a couple of regular games in Japan so I know the atmosphere in general.

It’s in Jingu Stadium where I’ve never been. Just wondering if anybody has any advice, is there any special food I should try there? Advice about the stadium in general?

I’ll be going there with supporters of the visiting team Orix buffaloes. I can’t figure out their uniform color. Internet says black, but looking at game one on tv, it looks like dark blue. What color shirt should I wear? I just won’t be wearing white for sure.

  1. Stadium is fantastic. Sight lines everywhere are great imo. The food is a bit overpriced as usual. Nothing special really. White and navy blue should help you blend in, if you really want to. Would also recommend going to Shinanomachi instead of Gaiemmae. Less crowded and more convenient station. The walk to the park is only 5-10 mins. Have fun!

  2. Heh, my husband is there right now watching the game. And tomorrow too.

I also recommend going through Shinamomachi station. Bit of a walk but it’s less crowded.

If you want food there go early and get one of the special team bento. There’s also a shop that sells you a plate of mixed sausages that my husband is crazy about.

Vendors walk through the stands selling beer, chuhai, soda and ice cream.

  3. I like to collect the mini helmet food containers from the stadiums I’ve been to, could get a yakukt one? I believe they’re also selling limited gold edition of it for winning central league.

As long as you’re cheering in tune with the overall group, feel like colors shouldn’t matter tooooo much
