Medicine costs in Japan

Hello,

I am planning on moving to Japan for work (IT).
However, I have some health issues (Diabetes type 1 etc.) that require daily medicine usage. After googling around it seems as if health care in Japan is on the cheaper side, however I’d love to know more about it to be certain that everything will work out well economically on my end as well.

If I understand correctly I will only have to pay 30% of the medicine costs, while the country sponsors 70% with their health care system. That being said, I have had a hard time finding concrete numbers as to what I should expect my medicine to cost me monthly and so on.

Is there anyone here with similar experiences or know-how so that I could get some help getting a good estimate on what I should expect to pay?

Thanks a lot for the help! I really appreciate it.
