I keep reading this but have yet to see any examples. To the point it feels like misinformation to stop Japan destroying itself with stories of bad actors (naughty companies, not terrible entertainers).
Like if someone did name these creeps and it went to court is there really any chance a judge is gonna say “they lost money coz you named them on reddit so you need to pay up” even though there’s proof they did something wrong?
Also curious to read of situations with the name shamer being sued but winning because it was in the public interest as determined by the court.
I feel like this is fear mongering folklore. Prove me wrong.

I think Kimura Takuya is a fantastic actor, but my friend disagrees. Can he sue my friend for stating her opinion even though it’s in the public interest to save people from watching his (allegedly) terrible TV shows?

I forgot to fill my phone memory with high def closeups and videos of the sports car my mum rented for me as a gift because I was excited.
After the fact, ShadyCar™ tried to sting me for extra cheddar.
How can I possibly lose this case if ShadyCar™ provably (assuming I didn’t pull the old left-handed right-hander signature trick, wink wink) forged my signature?

“Hypothetical Person, your mum is your dad”, and I can prove it’s true. Can you sue me for saying it, and who will win?
How can you quantify lost earnings based on this undeniable fact?
