Still, in the midst of planning and just had a couple of questions, but for some reason, I had to post my research.

As a tourist what else is there to do during new years eve besides the temples and whatnot? It is just going to be a dead day is there any place that is open what I’ve heard is that most places close on new years day and eve.

Also if anyone has had any experience with this, how do you get tickets for the Ghibli Park located in Nagoya as a foreign tourist? I’ve researched that tickets are available to purchase through a lottery system but I need an address in Japan to make an account to sign up for the lottery. I really wanted to go but it seems like it’s going to be a bust.

Looking through my itinerary is there anything wrong with it? Personally, I don’t see anything but it’s always a good idea to get a different view from it especially if they know the place a lot better than me and my friends.

Underrated places to visit in Hakodate, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, and Tokyo?

Overrated places that aren’t the hype to skip?

Local foods of the area that is a must try/Restaurants in the area to try?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions it’s just that I haven’t been since I was a kid and I never planned anything like this so I’m very new to this kind of thing.

Any advice is appreciated and welcomed. Thank you

It’s not available for overseas visitors yet. Keep a look at the website for when the release date is announced.

  2. Is there a reason you want to do all that traveling just to go to Hakodate for a day? There are definitely places more centrally located to the rest of your itinerary that wouldn’t involve so much out of the way travel. Kanazawa and Hiroshima come to mind, as well as Arima Onsen, Kinosaki Onsen, Kawaguchiko, or Hakone. Or even day trips from Tokyo like Nikko or Kamakura.
