I myself have been learning Japanese for 8 months already, and I think I already know it at a level that would more or less talk (go to a restaurant, ask directions on the street, well, some simple things). Of course I know Hiragana and Katakana, and I remember kanji surprisingly easily. But it seems to me that I have reached a dead end with the study materials that I used before, and decided to ask: is it worth buying the most famous Japanese Genki textbook? Simply, firstly, it is quite expensive for me (if taken along with a workbook and an answer key), and secondly, I don’t quite understand to what level of language this book leads. I just know that there is Genki 2, and in my case, maybe I should buy it? Well, actually I wanted to hear the opinion of those who tried Genki, or about some materials for a more advanced level of the language, thanks in advance for the answer.By the way, I tried to find a similar question on this subreddit but did not find it (please do not delete my post🥺)
