Here on a student visa but I’m trying to earn a bit of side income for expenses. **Before you warn me YES I have the permission to work 28h/week **
That aside, I’ve seen many different resources like Tokyo dev, Japan dev, LinkedIn, etc. which only seem to post full time offers aimed towards mid-career professionals.
What I’m looking for are internships aimed at Junior programmers. I have no job experience in IT but a solid portfolio of projects and can speak Japanese at a business level. Are there any good resources for this?
Thanks

That kind of internship is pretty rare.
[HENNGE](https://japan-dev.com/jobs/hennge/hennge-hennges-global-internship-program-vrqg56) has a 4-week one coming up. It’s a pretty good company.
Places like Mercari do them from time to time as well. I’d recommend making a list of companies you want to work at, and contacting them to ask if they’ll take you on as an intern.
You never know what will happen.
do some odd jobs at crowdworks.jp?
I know someone who did an internship at Indeed that was 28 hours per week for a few months.
You could look at Kopra.org. Page is pretty dead, but a couple of internship offers are still around.
You aren’t having much luck on job boards because Japanese companies hiring English speaking developers can afford to be picky, and that part time opportunities and internships aren’t worth companies paying to advertise.
Since you can speak Japanese, you could try targeting Japanese startups on [Wantedly](https://www.wantedly.com/). You’ll probably need to dig through a lot of companies, and what you find might not be the greatest, but I have heard of people picking up part time work through it despite having no experience.
