Question on where to begin researching for studying abroad

Hello! I am interested in studying abroad in Japan and I’m just not sure where to go with my research on this.

Currently, I am studying at a community college to recieve my A.A., and my original plan was to finish that in about a year (3.5+ gpa) and transfer to Temple University in Japan.

I was literally just now doing research before my next advising appointment… and I saw here and elsewhere TUJ doesn’t have a great reputation. While I’m not that easily persuaded, I am not really sure what to do now since that was my big plan. I want to move into Japanese translation, although I may or may not move into a different career. Although I am a somewhat serious student, honestly, I just want to experience the country for two years, make friends, and enjoy my time. I’ve been studying the language for a few years now and I’d love to continue being able to study it forever. I apologize if I just sound like I’m rambling.

Where should I start researching? Should I try to find anyone at my school that could help with this? What other universities are better to work towards?

TLDR: I want to study abroad and I’ve seen stuff that’s like “Noo don’t go to Temple!” so… what should I do then?

I’d appreciate any helpful and kind advice.
